Skiing and Savoring: The Perfect Meal at Togakushi

By

When I was skiing at Togakushi it was getting cold (windy) and I was getting hungry. Then my dad spotted this restaurant near the chairlift and we decided to go there!

No Margherita on the menu, which is a bit sad, but they had mushroom pizza! Me happy! (I like mushrooms.)

It came with tobasco sauce. I didn’t know what it was but it looked yummy and spicy – and I like spicy!

The pizza came with tabasco! It’s topped with sauce, cheese and Japanese mushrooms

Guess what… I got to cut it myself! I remember doing it at preschool (with a pretend pizza cutter and pizza), I loved that so I was happy to do it now!

All of it was absolutely delicious. It just tasted great and it was balanced. Japanese mushrooms look and taste (not as flavoursome) compared to New Zealand ones.

I added 4 drops of tobasco sauce on a piece of pizza at once and it was amazing – and spicy!

I was so hungry I also had a bowl of Arrabbiata (tomato sauce) pasta. It was tasty, and my mum thought it was the best dish on the table, but I liked the pizza best of all.

They were very busy people so I didn’t get to say much, but I did say “oishikatta desu yo!” and they did like that!
